Gorai Beach – Mini Goa in Mumbai:
This beach is lying along the Arabian Sea in the North Western part of Maharashtra. Gorai beach is bordered by Manori & Uttan villages of Dharavi Island. This mini Goa is accessible by ferry from Mumbai. Gorai Beach – Mini Goa was famous for its non-polluted beach. However, that’s not the case anymore. Yes, it is less polluted than any other commercialized beaches in Mumbai. There are no motor boats or cruises on this beach. You won’t see that blue color of the sea water, here as well water on the beach is greyish in color. Gorai Beach has brown wet sand. Also, be prepared for fishy smell all around the beach.

How to Reach Gorai Beach?
From Mumbai, there are two routes to reach Gorai Beach. One is through water and other is through road.
Water Route to Gorai Beach:
From Borivali station, take an auto-rickshaw to Manori Creek. Take a ferry from this creek to Gorai. Then from the Gorai shore, take an auto-rickshaw or a horse cart to the Gorai Beach. A ferry ride will cost you INR 10.00 per pax, auto-rickshaw will be INR 100.00 for four pax & horse cart will be INR 120.00 to INR 150.00 for one cart.
The last ferry from Gorai Beach to Manori Creek for Borivali is at 10.45 PM; whereas from Manori creek to Gorai, the last ferry is at 11.00 PM.
Road Route to Gorai Beach:
You can reach Gorai Beach via road through Bhyander (16KM from Gorai). Or, you can opt Western Highway to Mira Road and then, take Uttan Road to Gorai. By taking this route you will feel as if you are in Goa. Though the route is long and tiresome, the choice is yours.
